Walmart to create 1,500 new jobs in Texas as it builds pipeline for its new film and video production facilities

Posted November 19, 2018 06:27:51Walmart will create 1.5 million new jobs as it expands its production and production services businesses in the Lone Star State, the company announced on Tuesday.

The Wal-Mart Development Center, a project of the company’s corporate philanthropy, will provide new opportunities for its employees, who will be supported by a growing team of contractors, including some of the largest names in the industry, including 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures and 20th Television.

Walmart is currently expanding its production services and logistics operations in Texas, where it has more than 3,000 locations and has been working to expand the pipeline of its movies, video games and digital products.

The company said the pipeline is expected to grow to 20 million square feet in 2020.

Wal-Mart also plans to add more than 1,000 jobs in its U.S. stores, a development that was first announced in December.
